##PROGRAM##

Bartók became an elected member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1935 due to his scholarly achievement. Apart from his voluminous multi-ethnic collections, his more than a hundred shorter writings on the significance of folk music and ethnomusicology reflect both his struggles as a researcher and his scientific methods. With the help of photos and documents in the Budapest Bartók Archives as well as quotations from Bartók’s writings, the exhibition wishes to sketch the portrait of Bartók, the scholar.

The exhibition is on view between 1 and 18 April.
