Multiple Grammy Award-winning British conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner is a leading figure in baroque and classical music, the doyen of the early music movement who continues to be characterized by a tireless curiosity and energetic attitude. He has been a returning guest conductor with the world’s leading symphony orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic. This time, he will bring the ensemble he founded in 2024 to the festival, to perform cantatas Bach composed for Easter and the second day of Easter, as well as the Easter Oratorio, a major work of Bach’s church music oeuvre.
