In 2026, during the time of the Bartók Spring International Arts Weeks, Budapest will be hosting the annual meeting of Classical:Next, with almost 1000 professionals from more than 50 countries exchanging ideas. The multi-day event, which focuses on contemporary and classical music, will feature conferences, showcase concerts, project presentations, film screenings, an exhibition, Classical:NEXT Innovation Award ceremony and lots of networking opportunities. In the BMC Concert Hall, you can see and hear such special performances as LIMBO Sonata, a fusion of contemporary circus and contemporary music, with the violinist doubling as an acrobat in the strictest sense of the word, or the concert of the French-Argentine trio Collectif Alliage. The Opus Jazz Club will host the Iranian piano and cello duo Golnar Shahyar and Atena Eshtiaghi, and the Czech voice and double bass formation Hlaskontrabas Oktet.
