‘This age is silent’ – Margó on Poetry Day
Spring Margó Literary Festival
11 April 2026 | 8.00 pm
Kristály Színtér
Featuring:
Márton Simon – prose, Glsch x DDT
‘A poem is silent. Give it a voice. A poem is dead in a book. Bring it to life. What is recitation? The resurrection of the poem from its paper grave. This age is silent. It reads soundlessly, writes soundlessly,’ Dezső Kosztolányi wrote almost a hundred years ago. On Poetry Day, the Spring Margó will bring poetry to life, with poets, slam artists and rappers helping us to celebrate rhyming literature. Fifteen years ago, Márton Simon made his debut at the first Margó, and has since published several volumes of poetry to the delight of readers and the acclaim of critics. At the Kristály, we will be offered flashes from these 15 years, like so many Polaroid shots. Along with debut poets, the final event of the Spring Margó also features some of the best Hungarian lyricists, and this fête of poetry will be brought to a close by Glsch and DDT, a hip hop formation.
This event of the Bartók Spring is jointly presented by Müpa Budapest and Kultúrkombinát Kft.
