The 11th Budapest Ritmo kicks off with a free opening day at the House of Music Hungary, where three young up-and-coming bands make their debut in front of invited international experts and the Ritmo audience as part of the showcase program. Similar to last years, the concerts showcase fresh talents in world music, presenting a fusion of roots and contemporary influences interpreted by Hungarian and regional bands. Veronika Varga’s album True Picture, inspired by Hungarian and Greek songs, will be performed live for the first time here, the Slovakian female group Neha! will fill the room with rich vocal harmonies, while Ethérea’s music, enriching Bulgarian folklore with psychedelic elements, promises an exciting finale.
