Saturday’s conference will spotlight the Hungarian music industry. Following a panel discussion on the future and financial opportunities, various Hungarian festivals will present short pitches to potential sponsors.

After the conference program, the audience can watch the documentary film Amadou & Mariam: The Blind Couple from Mali. The film follows the journey of this iconic musical duo from West Africa.

Saturday’s concert program promises true musical gems, with performers from three continents coming to enchant the audience of Ritmo. The day kicks off with Grupo Compay Segundo, who will transport us to the vibrant nights of Havana. They will be followed by the Slovenian band Bakalina Velika, blending Balkan and jazz rhythms, and then the Belgian jazz ensemble Black Flower promises further genre-bending adventures. The duo of Nóvé Soma and Ifj. Csoóri Sándor will present their fresh new twist on Hungarian folk songs, followed by Magyar Banda, bringing a true Hungarian dance hall atmosphere by infusing traditions with contemporary energy. Last, but not least Guinea-Bissau’s rising star, Patche Di Rima will step on stage, who will present a new style from the gumbé, afrobeat, and singa genres. The concerts will be accompanied by DJ sets in the Foyer from Axel Moon, known from Ko Shin Moon band, and Hungarian performer Obadu.

The Budapest Ritmo is jointly presented by Müpa Budapest and Hangvető in the framework of the Bartók Spring.
