##PROGRAM##

Ludwig Museum’s exhibition takes a look at the state of transitoriness. It captures the moment in the process in which the present time dimension expands and the characteristics and internal events of the state can be observed closely, with the help of the means of the visual arts. What unfolds is the perspective of the moment that closes in on itself, the absolute present, the total now, as a state of permanent transitoriness. The exhibition presents a variety of techniques and media (installation, multimedia devices) to illustrate and convey states of transitoriness.
The pandemic has undermined our faith in a predictable future. It has confronted us with the fact that the individual (still) is part of the ecosystem, and we became involved in problems that previously seemed to be outside the level and reality of the individual. We have entered a transitional state which is proving increasingly permanent and raises the need to study the issue of transitoriness as the defining state of our present – and our future.

The exhibition is on view between 8 April and 4 September.

This exhibition of the Bartók Spring is jointly presented by Müpa Budapest and Ludwig Museum – Museum of Contemporary Art.
